A visit from the Goodwins…

Monday, January 25th, 2010

On Saturday afternoon, we had our friends Andy, Wendy and little Vienna Goodwin visit us. It was the first time that we had a little baby stay with us and the experience was great. Wendy is a great mother and little Vienna was mostly a happy baby. Of course she did not want to go to sleep when it was time to go and instead stayed up with us until 10:30pm. Here are some photos of beautiful Vienna.

Photo session with Jesse, Laurie, Rory and I

Monday, December 14th, 2009

On Sunday I did another photo session with Jesse and Laurie. They are my number one friends that I subject to photo sessions whenever I’m in the mood for some studio photography. But this time, I’ve decided that it would be nice to have some photos of Rory and I as well as the four of us together.

Here’s a photo of all four of us. It just so happened that both Jesse and Rory wore red shirts while Laurie and I had dark sweaters on.

On Saturday morning, Leslie brought her two adorable little kids, Liam and Tyler for a photo session. They are 3 years old and we started with some studio photos.

Flowers

Saturday, June 6th, 2009

This summer our roses have been blooming full force. Here are a few of my favorite shots:

And though the strawberries are not ripe yet, they are coming out one by one.

What’s in a name?

Tuesday, May 26th, 2009

The name “rose” is lovely and romantic. It is sweet with beauty and fragrance. Would a rose by any other name smell as sweet? I do not think so. It is the name just as much as the flower that makes it so perfect, so heavenly, so amazing. And it is this lovely flower that I wanted to plant in my garden. And last year, we did.

Now as the rays of sun touch their petals and give life to every stem, the flowers are awaking and radiating their significance. It is with the awe that I have taken a few pictures of my roses.

Sunday afternoon in spring

Monday, April 20th, 2009

This past Sunday was a great day. The weather was decent not too hot and not too cold. Rory and I decided to start gardening. So we went to the store and bought some vegetable starters as well as a few seeds.

While I was planting, Rory decided to mow the lawn. It was in desperate need to do so. However, before the grass was completely cut, Teika decided to lay in the tall green grass filled with dandelions. A picture perfect moment.

Teika

My muse is my dog. She is the most beautiful dog and loves to pose. When she sleeps in her bed, she has a tendency to lie half off her bed. In the picture below, I used a wide angle lens and got really close to her in order to exaggerate her nose. I then decreased the colors of the photos and brightened it up so that I achieved a very bright and washed out photo. I just love this shot.

Transparency in Nature

Wednesday, April 15th, 2009

One amazing natural beauty happens after the plant has stopped blooming. Though I do not know what this plant is called, I find it’s beauty amazing. It is a very fragile element that I believe is shed from the plant. One has to handle it quite gingerly not to break it. Thus a few photographs to preserve it’s beauty were in order:

Gearhart, Oregon

The beach is a great place to take photos. Last weekend, I went to Gearhart in Oregon. The weather turned out to be great, so below are some shots from the trip.

Neighborhood photos

Wednesday, March 25th, 2009

Living in Seattle provides for a great opportunity to photograph the great scenery around. With Lake Union close by and 45th street in Wallingford, and decent weather, I ventured outside to photograph the neighborhood.

Cold weather is a great time for tea and one great way to make tea that has a beautiful presentation as well as using the jasmine flowering tea.

The neighbors have an interesting weed in their yard. After the leaves fade away, the inside of the leaves remain and become dry. It’s a great home decoration.

Here are a few night shots of the city.

One of the best cupcakes can be found at the Trophy Cupcake located in the Wallingford Center. Yummy!

And finally, ending with a view of Seattle from Lake Union.
