Cameron's Adventures

Besides orange on our block, we’ve had yellow snow. The truck and the street is now beautifully covered with it.

So I finally received the camera I’ve been waiting for. It has been almost 4 months since I’ve ordered it and yesterday the camera came. it was a very exciting time, only to be disappointed.  After using it for just a few minutes, I suddenly received “error 20” whenever I tried to take a picture. Needless to say, last night was very disappointing.

However, I did not want to quit playing with it even when the error kept appearing. I read all there was on the web about this issue and followed all the instruction I could find in order to try and fix it. One thing that they did not mention but which I kept doing was to continually attempt to take pictures. That is, I set my camera to continue shooting and pressed the button. The error kept appearing but I didn’t care. I kept on shooting.

Then suddenly, after doing this for some time, the camera started working. And just like that, it continued to work. Today, I used it for 12 or so hours and it has not failed once. So I am hopeful that it will remain working.

Here are a few of my favorite shots from today and yesterday as I was testing it to make sure it is working:

^ This is Rory as he got home from a bike ride yesterday. FedEx brought the camera about 10 minutes before…

^ I tried the monochrome setting of the camera. Not bad!

^ Using my Tokina 12-24MM lens, I took a picture of the neighborhood. of course this lens does not let me go all the way down to 12mm. Instead it provides an interesting circular block.

Below is a picture of a picture on our wall. It is a wedding day photo. Even though I did not take it in sepia, it has that feel, which is kind of cool.

 
This morning, Rory, Teika and I went for a walk. Along the way, I continued to test the camera to make sure it is working.

And tonight, I tested it in the cold since that is when it failed last night.

I think it is only fitting that my first blog entry on http://themuresans.com website is “Hello World”!! And Also, hello to my brother Darian who setup this site and gave me the idea to start my personal blog here.
