The Artist

I love the herb mint and I use a lot in my cooking and almost all the time I have in vases mint in my house . We have mint in Camano so it is easy to have all the time until late when the first snow cover the ground.

Mint syrup

2 cups of mint , 1 cup of water , 1 cup of sugar .

It is a good syrup what can be use for tea, lemonades , pancakes and cooking deserts .

My breakfast surrounded with lovely  blooming mints .

  Beets juice .

Tomatoes staffed with scrambled eggs , feta cheese and malted cream cheese .

  Beets salad with caraway seeds, onion ,rice vinegar and olive oil . 

So I have a lot of happiness in the company of the mint and the smell and the aroma is incredible .  The fragrant  of the mint is   good for aromatherapy too .      

  Was a pleasant surprise Emma’s visit with Maria today to Camano . Grandpa David didn’t see her from long time and her first visit was a lovely moments and David head her in his arms almost all the time .

Today I came back from Camano to Seattle at 5.30 am . Was dark and the Moon light was so bright .

Driving my car on my way to the freeway ,

My friend Elena asked me  to do a wedding cake ,a chocolate cake .. and banana  fruit breads .    

From what I trimmed from the cake when I assembled it and left over cream  I did for sample a small pan with cake  . Of course the cake has different looking inside , has 4 levels , and each levels has chocolate cream .

I  did 16 ( 2 for test )

Baking for a wedding was a lot of joy .

When the sunshine is bright , the sky is  clear and the entire nature is smile , and  even one  wiled lend looks surprising beautiful . This is the case of our place in Camano.

When I was a little girl in Romania one of my favorite candy was Rahat ( the name for the sweet, soft applets and cotlets ) Yesterday I tried  to do same of this candy and I was surprised  what good they came , I was so excited  and I combine to many ingredients in one. I used  apple sauce, dry apricots, orange marmalade , lemon juice, walnuts ,vanilla extract .A combination of all this flavors  gives to the candy a special twist . Next time I will do just one distinct flavor . For example : just  lemon or just   strawberry .

So now I have to experiment new flavors and colors of this so edible candy ………    

  Today was a gorgeous day , sonny , worm and all the nature was smile .I was too , my girls came to visit me and we head a good time , this moments I want to stay forever with us .I love you my girls and I am so happy because you are a part of me .

I love this picture !!!!!! Maria’s look over her Engel is so precious . And the light from the sunshine mixed with the shadow from the vegetation is perfect .

One day maybe this hands will paint famous canvasses and she will achieve my dreams …… who knows ? or she will be one   inventor what will be recognize…. and then all what we head  so many years just a dream she will have  in reality . Our children are gift from the  God and we are so thankful with them .       

I am a happy mother and grandma , yes  I am, and for that I thanks God every minute of my life . 

Yes, this day is a day when our family life was changed forever . Is the day when we left our country , to rich our dreams in a new country where the freedom is available for everyone . After years of fight with the high authorities from Romania we finally have got passports and visa and we left our family and country with broken harts .

Seven years what time we are waiting for visa , our life in Romania was different  then other . In our apartment the security agents  put secret microphones in walls and all the conversations what we head in our apartment was  monitored . We have now in our possession   7 volumes  with all this conversations  . Incredible,  we have got all this materials from Romania from  the  Interne Ministerial ,  after the communist party failed . Is sad but truthful . They know everything about us in that period , where we have to go, what we have to do , what we talk , what we think , everything…….. our private life was  total violated .

Maybe one day I will have time to write more about the life before we came in America . Will be my pleasure . In special the life in that time , work, hope, faith ,prays and believe in God help .And finally  tasting the happiness of success . I never will forgot the night when David came with the news of getting the visa and be accepted  in America  . Finally a happy, happy family !!!!!!! after so many  years of straggling  ,waiting , waiting …….and hopping in that day.     

Maria 11 years old , Darian, 14 years old , David 43 years old and me 40 years old .  Just arrive in America in California .

22 years in America our life changed a lot . We work very hard and we head a lot and we lost a lot . But the most important is we never lost the hope in better future  .We have to thanks God for everything . For our health , for our children for their family , for their  happiness . We came here for their future and I am so thankful for what they are today , for what nice partners of life they have . And I am so thankful for the little Engel Emma what came now like present from the God in our family .

This is a happy moments with my Emma . a present for our anniversary of 22 years in America .

Thank you David for your incredible courage , and sustain fight to bring us here and to give us a new life . You never give up to the hope in success , and we succeeded  than, and I am sure one day we will succeed again . . 

A drop of honey make more interesting the iced watermelon dark and light pink in contrast with yellow lashes of the honey .

And the popcorn ….impressed me too , so many shapes , so white and so good…….. 

Is so easy to do , and is so refreshing in a summer time . All what you need is a watermelon and a passion to do it .

I can not believe what amazing beautiful can be the oregano flowers !!!!!
